Vivian Loretta Evans, 72, of 36 Gilmore Street, Keyser, WV, died Friday, September 23, 2005 at the Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland, MD.
Born on December 10, 1932 at Alaska, WV, she was a daughter of the late LaPorte and Lucy Mae (Logsdon) Fertig. She also was preceded in death by her husband Norman Junior Evans on January 17, 1975; three brothers, Burke, Andy and Elmer Fertig and a half brother, Hike Fertig.
Mrs. Evans was employed for many years as a cook with the Royal Restaurant, the Taste-O-Home Restaurant, Shumaker’s Restaurant and Rainbow Lanes.
Surviving are three daughters, Loretta Evans West and husband Bill of Baltimore, MD, Donna Vogel and husband Lance Combs and Karen Hemmerly and husband Ken, all of Keyser; three sons, Albert Evans, Mark Evans and Tony Baker and wife Diana, all of Keyser; two brothers, Robert Fertig of Moorefield, WV and Joe Fertig of Barberton, Ohio and two sisters, Doris O’Brien of Keyser and Valda Luzader of Barberton, Ohio. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, Warren Bush, Angie Vogel, Steven Whealton, Sean Baker, Kevin Hemmerly, Joseph Hemmerly, Albert Evans, Jr., Noah Evans and Matthew Miller and nine great-grandchildren, Ozzy Whealton, Aslyn Crites, Zachary and Andy Bowen, Zachary and Adam Hodges, Sara Bush, Devyn Gillispie and Daniel Layton.
Friends were received at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Monday, September 26 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.
Funeral services were conducted at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Tuesday, September 27 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Darnell Allen officiating.
Interment was in the Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser.
